Why is content important for SEO, part one
What is SEO?
SEO is an acronym for Search Engine Optimization. It is the method of analyzing and constructing individual web pages or entire sites, so that they can be discovered and indexed by various search engines.SEO has the capacity to make the content of your web pages more relevant, more attractive, and more easily accessible by search engines and their crawling and indexing software.
Why would mean anything to you? Well, would it be of any importance that your customers are unable to find your telephone number or find the address of your business? Not many businesses could survive for very long in this situation. This situation also applies to a web site. Can potential customers easily locate your current website? Traffic to your web site could be considerably low. Potential customers might not even be aware of your online presence.
You might try an argument of having a beautiful web site done by prominent web design company and that the web site address is given in all advertising campaigns. How come people might be unable to find the site?” Ask yourself if you are absolutely sure your advertising has reached enough potential customers? Have you stopped to consider that some people simply do not read the newspapers? And how about people who missed to get the issue of the magazine where you placed an expensive ad?
Did these people happen to hear the radio broadcast when your commercial aired, or were they watching the business channel during the news hour? Were they on the advertising mailing list for which you paid thousands of dollars? Now, let us get down to those search engines that everyone uses. Potential customers usually type a word or two into the box, hit ENTER, and supposedly find a listing for your company’s web site. Just another click and you get another visitor. Easy as pie, isn’t it?
Almost “type-and-click” scenario in some cases does happen. More often than not, however, it doesn’t happen without a little help. And the best thing you can do help things up is Search Engine Optimization.
Why should one have had such difficulty in finding a certain site? Perhaps it may be related to the site developers’ having little apparent understanding of basic SEO techniques.
