Why is content important for SEO, part two
Nowadays, there are more and more writers are stating that search engine optimization is no longer vital to online success. This might make sense to those writers and parties whose interest is to push cash flow away from SEO, but I protest loudly and disagree. Throughout this posting you will see why. I give you my assurance that despite my own inherent bias it will very logical and undeniable.
SEO NOT SO IMPORTANT? Couldn’t be further from the truth - SEO is now more important than ever before!
SEO is the process of improving the volume/quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via “natural”, “organic” search results. By definition, SEO is a priority requirement for any website that wishes to be successful within organic search results. This is even truer since the competition for online visibility is fiercer today; because previously uncompetitive terms have become saturated with late comers to the apparent gold rush of Internet commerce. As a result of that, websites, even if done by really prominent web design company, should have the best optimization possible if they want any chance of standing up to the competition.
Successful SEO-Evolution
As is the case with any growing technology, competent SEO companies were forced to develop their search engine optimization practices to include the latest tools that improve SEO results. For example, when a SEO campaign is launched today - Step Forth Web Marketing has much more information to access and evaluate the success of a campaign with analytics sources Click Tracks, Google Analytics and alike. Moreover, keyword research tools like Keyword Discovery, WordTrack, etc., have revolutionized our capacity for finding qualified keyword targets and consequently increase the effectiveness of campaigns. As a result, SEO campaigns are now far more targeted and effective.
If we put aside these invaluable new SEO tools, the search landscape has had a major role in the evolution of SEO, too. Today, SEO companies are forced to adapt to new forms of search results and, as a result, less space now is made available in the traditional search engine result pages (SERPs). This is due to the inclusion of other media forms such as video and images, as well as personalization; The goal is still the same - targeted visibility leading to increased volume of traffic.
Guide to SEO - REVISION
With new tools addition and the search landscape constantly changing and evolving so much over the past 10 years the techniques of applying quality SEO has also followed suit, but the fundamentals are still the same. The addition of SEO manual at this point of this posting is not an option; however, I have a couple of examples are provided below.
Example:
Local Results
Over the past years Google has started to show different and customized search results to its users depending upon their locality; all a part of their strategy to personalize search results to create a more effective search result. If the website about to be optimized would benefit from being found more readily by people searching from its locale then it is important to consider this fact when optimizing the website.
SEO Tip ONE for Local Rankings:
Make sure that each page specifically includes in textual format the complete address to the company’s physical offices. This information can be simply added to the footer, there is no need to make it centre - which can be taken by other, more important content.
SEO Tip TWO for Local Rankings: It is very easy and absolutely free to add your business to Google’s Local directory which, in turn, will often provide you with a free top ranking (if you do it right).
Example:
Blog Optimization through Content Optimization
Over the past years blogs have become a necessity for any business that needs to build online credibility and free incoming links (from reference posts). With this splendid new marketing tool, however, comes a set of best practices for blog optimization so that each post stands a high chance of obtaining visibility. Indeed, blog optimizing is an evolution of SEO because optimizers have to consider how the content will perform on site as well as on other sites that syndicate the content. Content optimization for syndication is certainly not anything new but it is definitely much more common than ever before. Furthermore, SEOs now have an educational role more often than before since they have to teach the blog writers (who are writing posts several times a day) how to optimize their content on the fly.
Content plays a crucial role as far as Search engine optimization is concerned. Content is said to be the king of SEO. It is very important to have quality and search engine friendly content in order to attract visitors to your website.
Why is content important for SEO, part one
What is SEO?
SEO is an acronym for Search Engine Optimization. It is the method of analyzing and constructing individual web pages or entire sites, so that they can be discovered and indexed by various search engines.SEO has the capacity to make the content of your web pages more relevant, more attractive, and more easily accessible by search engines and their crawling and indexing software.
Why would mean anything to you? Well, would it be of any importance that your customers are unable to find your telephone number or find the address of your business? Not many businesses could survive for very long in this situation. This situation also applies to a web site. Can potential customers easily locate your current website? Traffic to your web site could be considerably low. Potential customers might not even be aware of your online presence.
You might try an argument of having a beautiful web site done by prominent web design company and that the web site address is given in all advertising campaigns. How come people might be unable to find the site?” Ask yourself if you are absolutely sure your advertising has reached enough potential customers? Have you stopped to consider that some people simply do not read the newspapers? And how about people who missed to get the issue of the magazine where you placed an expensive ad?
Did these people happen to hear the radio broadcast when your commercial aired, or were they watching the business channel during the news hour? Were they on the advertising mailing list for which you paid thousands of dollars? Now, let us get down to those search engines that everyone uses. Potential customers usually type a word or two into the box, hit ENTER, and supposedly find a listing for your company’s web site. Just another click and you get another visitor. Easy as pie, isn’t it?
Almost “type-and-click” scenario in some cases does happen. More often than not, however, it doesn’t happen without a little help. And the best thing you can do help things up is Search Engine Optimization.
Why should one have had such difficulty in finding a certain site? Perhaps it may be related to the site developers’ having little apparent understanding of basic SEO techniques.
A quick reality-check:
How much Google knows about that site? Check what Google comes up with, and you will know if you need SEO.
CONTENT MATTERS
Content rules. Related content, original content, relevant content, updated content, multilink content, fresh content - Alpha and Omega of SEO. It is widely accepted and taught that frequently updated quality content is the initial approach in SEO.
Keep in mind that Google and other search engines mostly feed on fresh content. With some minor exceptions, though. And there are some other important factors to consider.
But let us get back to CONTENT:
Improving Content of Your Webpage
Content is the King! And there is absolutely no way around that fact. Web page content has more importance than any other factor to continue visitor on a particular page, for content is the only thing that a visitor read.
